Barney Heads to Bean Town

Spirit Lupe’s mom hosts the KillBarney tour in Boston, Massachusetts.

We were just starting to wonder where the KillBarney Tour will take Jerry’s little purple friend next, when we received this sweet leter from lupepod…

Greetings Spirit Jerry!

I am writing to let you know that your faithful purple friend has made it safely to Massachusetts! He couldn’t have arrived at a better time for me…it was 6 months ago last week that Lupe earned her wings and joined you and all the other tripawd warriors at the Rainbow Bridge and I have missed her so much. I knew he was coming, Hollybeans mom told me he was on his way, but I didn’t expect him today.

I had run out to the center of town to pick up movie tickets for me and friends to see a movie tonight, picked up some last minute holiday gifts (one of them is a special thank you for my brother as he was my rock through Lupe’s illness) and when I got home there was a box in the entryway (I live in a house that has 3 apartments). I saw it was for me and was from Oakland, CA. Took me a second as I don’t know anyone from Oakland, but then I realized what it was…I grabbed it and ran up the stairs giggling like a schoolgirl. Barney had arrived!

I opened the box and there he was in all of the chewed on glory. I am so excited to go through the box and see what other tripawds have added and to read all of the stories in the journals. Barney’s adventures in MA will start tomorrow, he’s going to meet Lupe’s “friend” Sugar (she’s a crazy monkeybutt Maltese) and he will definitely have a few things to see in the western part of the state. When we get back he’s off for his first visit of Boston and the surrounding areas. But he’s already made himself a part of Red Sox Nation.

I’m so excited your pawrents and the other tripawd pawrents have kept your Barney’s tour going. While Barney won’t get chewed on during his visit with me, we are going to have a great time and I know your spirit will be looking down on us wondering what he’s doing…just ask Lupe she can fill you in. 🙂

Vader Welcomes Barney Back To UK

Tripawds KillBarney Tour takes Barney to Shropshire, England to visit three legged dogs Vader and Tango.

Big news from International Barney! The KillBarney Tour has stopped back in Shropshire, England to visit Tripawds UK spoksedog Vader and his pack….

Barney arrives in the UK at chez Murphy where two Tripawds, Vader and Tango are waiting to meet him! Barney is currently unpacking his things in Highley, Shropshire, England in the heart of the Countryside with Caroline Murphy (me!) and his 6 new canine friends, two of which are Tripawds! Vader is a 3 legged French bulldog and Tango is a 3 legged German Shepherd crossbreed. Both are missing their front right leg and were rescued by me after their amputations.

Monkeydog Ruby Attacks Barney

My normally gentle and reserved monkeybutt sister, Ruby, greeted Barney with considerable gusto, taking the “kill barney” tour very literally. I confess to having a paw in her overly zealous greeting (one of the many advantages of being a spirit. 🙂

Obviously I am very disappointed that I couldn’t be here in my physical form to greet Barney although if I had greeted him he may not have been in any condition to enjoy the sights of Sydney. I know Ruby will be kinder to him and show him a wonderful time.

As you can see, Barney was very moved, howling uncontrollably, after reading my story, but I have assured him that life goes on and I am never far from my pack, guiding and watching over them.

International Barney Flies to New Zealand

That’s right, Travelin’ Barney has taken his farthest trip yet on the KillBarney Tour. Read all about Barney’s New Zealand Adventures that Sarah posted in the Anything Goes discussion forum.

Domestic Barney lands in Oklahoma

Jerry’s other Barney doll Barney recently arrived in Oklahoma. As Scout has moved on to the bridge, Monkeybutt Tom filled in as greeter. Tom didn’t quite know what to make of the purple cross-dressing dinosaur but quickly noticed the tag was still on his dress and removed it for him (sorry Bret, no more plugs).

Tom quickly got to work, engaging Barney in a death roll. Then, Barney put Tom in a trance, and made his escape. This is Barney’s first visit to OK and he is determined to check it out. Tom has since awakened from his trance, but Barney has made a run for it. Tom will eventually track him down, and they will continue their Oklahoma adventure. Stay tuned for more gory details from Barney’s Okie visit…
