Barney and Cadence, sitting in a tree…

Well not quite…

Followers of the KillBarney Tour know by now that two of Jerry’s Barney dolls are now circling the globe. Well, Domestic Barney has landed near Chicago again and this is what we heard from Cadence’s mom:

Immediately when the box arrived, Cadence knew it was for her somehow. She sniffed it intently. I opened it for her and immediately she started nosing through all the items.

Right off the bat, what caught her attention were the dog biscuits in the plastic baggie. She pulled that out first, started ripping apart the plastic, then snooped inside the rest of the box. She found Barney.

Cadence and Barney

I had to take him out because she was enamored with the dog biscuits and the rest of the items in the box. When she found the Monkeybutt rabbit ears, she got really excited and wanted to try them on. I told her she was not a monkeybutt dog, but try telling her that. I gave in and took a picture.

Cadence and Barney

Then, Little Brother came over and found Barney right away. Cadence tried to defend him at first, but let him have Barney, as the treats were just too attractive to turn her attention back on Barney. Barney got offended that a Tripawd would find treats were interesting than him and we found him chilling on our unfinished deck in the hot tub. We told him it does not work without water, but he seemed not to care. LOL!

Stay tuned to Cadence’s blog or the Discussion Forums for more details and photos from Barney’s visit. Check the KillBarney tour Map to see other Tripawds members Barney has visited. We hope to hear where International Barney is soon!

All Dressed Up and Everywhere to Go

KillBarney Tour announces changes, adds mini-Barney for the enjoyment of overseas Tripawds community members.

The KillBarney Tour is officially all dressed up and ready to go everywhere!

When we started the KillBarney Tour, we had no idea that it would become so popular and would touch the lives of so many Tripawds and their people. Over two years later, Barney and his giant suitcase have traveled throughout North America and even over to England.

You can see he’s already traveled far and wide, but we thought it would be great if even more Tripawds members around the globe could become a part of the KillBarney Tour experience.

Meet Travelin’ Barney

When Barney returned to Tripawds headquarters for a visit with Spokesdawg Wyatt Ray, he convinced Jerry’s pack to send off his smaller, singing cousin, “Travelin’ Barney.” We are hoppy to announce that now there are two of Spirit Jerry’s favorite Barney dolls traveling around the world, terrorizing Tripawds everywhere!

Wyatt and the Traveling Barneys

This Barney might be smaller in stature than the original, but he is also  covered in Jerry slobber too, and is perfectly suited for overseas travel. In his suitcase, we have packed 1/2 of all the goodies that previous hosts have added to the tour. Travelin’ Barney wants to visit foreign friends, like Tripawds UK members, so we made sure his suitcase is light enough to keep him affordably globetrotting to places outside North America.

Killbarney Tour Goodies

In addition to having Barney’s cousin join the tour, we also made two copies of the original KillBarney Tour journal – featuring the notes of all those Tripawds Barney has visited. We’ve also included a new Tripawds Journal in each box so future tour hosts can add their own experience to “The Barney Chronicles, Volume II.

Both Barneys are now on the way to their next stops on the KillBarney Tour, all dressed up in their Bret Michaels Pets Rock dresses and ready to pawty!

Killbarney Tour Traveling Barneys All Dressed Up

If you want to host either Barney, here are the rules. If you want Barney to pay a visit, post your request here in the Forums. Be sure to indicate where you are located and keep in mind these important notes:

  • Travelin’ Barney is intended for oveseas members
  • Upon receipt of the box, tour participants must keep one Barney tour item
  • Recipients must replace the kept item with a small, lightweight memento
  • Help us keep the box the same size, to keep shipping costs down

We hope everyone will get to host these special little guys at some point. Reading about other folks’ Tripawds adventures is a warm-fuzzy experience not to be missed, and including your own Tripawds’ Barney adventures adds to the heartfelt journal that brings hoppy tears to the eyes of so many in this community.

And now, without further adieu, we bid the Barneys farewell again and look forward to following their adventures with three legged dogs around the world. Stay tuned to hear find out which Tripawds members will hosting Barney next!

Yes. Barney met Tillman, the famous skateboarding dog star from Who Let the Dogs Out! The two have a lot in common. Tillman travels in his own bus, and Barney roamed the country in an RV with Jerry and his pack. They both made guest appearances at Blog Paws. And they both have lots of fans all over the world.

Tillman had a busy schedule as the Natural Balance spokesdawg so we didn’t have long to chat. But you can follow his antics Saturday mornings on Animal Planet!

Barney Goes to Blog Paws

Tripawds three legged dog community takes Barney the Purple Dinosaur to Blog Paws 2012 Social Media Conference in Salt Lake City.

Shortly after Barney arrived at the Colorado dude ranch where he’s learning the ropes from Wyatt Ray, the purple beast was whisked off to represent Tripawds at the Blog Paws 2012 Social Media Conference in Salt Lake City.

KillBarney Tour takes Barney to Blog Paws

Although he didn’t seem to have too much interest in seminars about things like how to build a better blog, the Purple Dino did have an exciting encounter or two and got to be the center of attention on a few occasions.

Jerry Fan meets Barney and Wyatt at BlogPaws

Like when he met fellow blogger and animal lover Lisa Wagner from Chicago. Lisa told us how much she was touched by the PBS documentary I was featured in, “Why We Love Cats and Dogs.”

Lisa told us that my story brought tears to her eyes, and she couldn’t stop thinking about us for a long, long time. It was quite a coincidence that we happened to meet fan at Blog Paws! She was so happy to meet Wyatt Ray and Barney too!

Blog Paws was a whirlwind time for the purple beast. After two long days of seminars, banquets and networking, Barney was exhausted and ready for a quiet retreat back at the ranch.

Little did he know that Wyatt Ray had other plans for him  . . .

To be continued.

Wyatt Welcomes Barney at the Ranch

Three legged German Shepherd Wyatt welcomes the Kill Barney Tour to Vickers Dude Ranch in Lake City Colorado.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch…

After several harrowing cross-country trips and long, lonely periods of isolation, Barney hitched himself up to a wagon train and headed out to Lake City, Colorado to spend some time at Spirit Jerry’s favorite dude ranch, where Tripawds Spokespup Wyatt Ray is currently employed as a ranch dawg.

Wyatt opens the KillBarney box

Wyatt wasn’t expecting a guest. But the box sure smelled good, so he dove right in! Suddenly, a stinky purple beast pops out and shouts, “Hello! I love you!”

Wyatt opens the KillBarney box

“Really? Are you kidding me? He’s back?” said Wyatt.

Oh not again. “You really aren’t cut out for ranch life,” he told this raggedy traveler, “but I can show you the ropes, maybe make something out of your sorry butt.”

Wyatt greets Barney

Wyatt quickly showed Barney to his bunk, and stuffed his big nose down into the box. Suddenly, a scent arose from the depths, a scent that brought back memories of good times, and his favorite bitch, Codie Rae from the Oaktown Pack.

Wyatt sniffs Oaktown Pack

Back when the Oaktown Pack hosted the little beast, his fake cousin Floyd tried to steal the show. Codie’s gang did their best to decapitate the poseur, but they failed in their attempt. Now, what was left of Floyd was hiding in the box.

But he couldn’t escape the powerful nose of Wyatt Ray.  “Hey, it’s that creepy wanna-be Barney!” He could smell the Oaktown Pack’s drool all over his tattered remains.

So he dug in, and continued to shred his remnants to pieces, as Barney watched from the dark corner of the bunkhouse, and shuddered . . . .

Stay tuned for more adventures with Barney at Wyatt on the ranch before he hits the road again soon!

Be sure to post in the I Want Barney forum if you understand the meaning of this tour an want your Tripawd to host the KillBarney Tour!
